- Assess what fills your energy bank. What makes you happy? What are not getting enough of that makes your energy bank full? Try writing down 5 things that give you energy and make you feel good. Then beside each one, write down when you last did those things. If it has been over a month for any of them, it has been too long. We all have the same Universal Needs and when these needs are not met, we will feel a variety of unpleasant feelings.
- Assess what things may be draining your energy bank. What makes your frustrated, sad, anxious, or angry? What things, people, or places are draining you? Write them down and determine which ones you can fix. Are you in a draining relationship, a frustrating job, or not being kind to yourself? These are often modifiable with the right coaching.
- Once you have figured out what you need and don't need in your life, you are ready to begin planning your NEW JOURNEY. Write down the vision you have of yourself in 3 months. It may sound something like this...I am 15 pounds lighter and wearing clothes that make me feel better about myself. I am in a happy relationship because I took the time to spend more time with my spouse and we talk about our needs.
- Write down goals to help you become your vision. Start with a few 3 month goals that are attainable, then write a weekly goal for each. Here is an example of a 3 month goal: I will walk briskly 5 times a week for 30 minutes with my spouse and use that opportunity to talk and connect. And an example of a 1 week goal: I will walk briskly 3 times a week for 20 minutes with my spouse.
